The fourth episode of Two Much With Kajol And Twinkle featured Govinda and Chunky Panday. Both raised a lot of laughs from the very start.
Chunky Panday began by saying, “Main toh full nepotism ki aulad hoon! I am the son of two doctors. My father was a heart surgeon while my mother was a doctor too. My mother knew everyone in the film industry. I tried my best to become a doctor.”
Govinda added, “Accha hua tu nahin bana!” Chunky agreed, “If I had become a doctor, Hindustan ki aabaadi kam ho jaati!” Govinda laughed and joked, “Aabaadi ka pata nahin. Tu kitno ki barbaadi kar deta!”
Chunky quipped, “However, I did get a degree – MBBF. It means Matric Mein Baar Baar Fail! Then I got a PhD – passed high school with difficulty! Hence, it was clear that I couldn’t have ever become a doctor. I was asked, ‘Kya banega?’. I replied, ‘I want to be an actor’.”
He then said, “I struggled for four to five years. If I managed to get into the film line, it was thanks to Govinda.” Govinda explained, “I left a movie. So, he got it!” Chunky agreed, “He’s right. I was struggling. I was not even getting video films or TV serials. Finally, I bumped into Pahlaj Nihalani in the bathroom.”
Kajol and Twinkle Khanna couldn’t stop laughing at this point. Chunky added to the fun by saying, “Bathroom mein itni badi badi cheezein hoti hai. Mera career shuru hua bathroom mein!”
He explained, “Pahlaj ji did Ilzaam (1986) with Govinda, which was a super-duper hit. I met him in the bathroom. In those days, there was no social media. We didn’t know who looked like what. So, we both were in the bathroom aur mera naada fas gaya tha. I was shouting, ‘Koi mera naada kholo’! He volunteered. He said, ‘Arre baba, main help karta hai’. I asked him who he was. He said, ‘I am a producer. I am Pahlaj Nihalani’. I was taken aback. I knew that he had launched Govinda. I told him that my name is Chunky Panday. He said, ‘Ajeeb naam hai’! He asked me to meet him the next day at his house, where I bagged the film (Paap Ki Duniya; 1988).”
