Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 59th birthday and as expected, there was jubilation like no other across the country courtesy of his die-hard fans. On this special occasion, SRK called his fans to an auditorium in Mumbai and had an interactive session with them. As expected, the superstar brought the house down with his wit and sense of humour. At the same time, he also made it clear how much the fans mean to him.
Shah Rukh Khan said, “Apart from the fact that you all love me, watch my films and pray for my family, the fact that you all could create a community like this (is commendable). You all have come closer to each other because you all call yourself my fans. I don’t like to call you all my fans. I’d like to call you all my family. All of you stick together not because of me but because of the goodness that we share with each other. That is very special to me.”
He also said, “I take a lot of time to make films. Isliye kaafi gaaliyan bhi padti hai mujhko. They say, ‘Kya kar raha hai? Film release nahin kar raha hai’. One fan scolded me for not announcing my next film. He wrote, ‘Birthday hai. Abhi toh (announce) kar de yaar’. Always remember, sau sunar ki ek lohar ki hoti hai!” His last sentence was greeted by claps and hoots.
Shah Rukh Khan then played around with the ‘Heropanti sabko aati nahin hai; meri jaati nahin’ dialogue from Tiger Shroff’s debut film and quipped, “Sabki (film) aati hai par hamari (film) aati hai”. He stressed on the second ‘aati’ and it added to the fun.
SRK continued, “Hence, please wait, have patience and send your love. The most special part is that sometimes, you love me so much that you shout back at me and say ‘Chal film release kar’.”
A few minutes later water, while talking to a fan who was presumably from Odisha, Shah Rukh Khan greeted him with “Jai Jagannath”.
