Vedang Raina reveals Ranbir Kapoor has bad singing skills, but praises his impressive lip-sync; “I have been the biggest fan of Ranbir’s lip-syncing in Rockstar” https://ift.tt/R2ONmhZ

Ranbir Kapoor, one of the leading actors of his generation, has captivated audiences with a string of successful films and is now gearing up for his next project, Ramayana. His talent and dedication have not only impressed viewers but also inspired younger actors. In a recent conversation with Lallantop, Jigra actor Vedang Raina praised Ranbir's performance in Rockstar, highlighting him as a source of inspiration. Alia Bhatt and director Vasan Bala also participated in the discussion.

During the conversation, while Vedang was singing, the host joked that Imtiaz Ali could do a Rockstar sequel with him. Vasan added, “The BTS for that would be much better.” Vedang then revealed that Rockstar was his favorite film, and that he would occasionally peek at the film's BTS. He said, “I have been the biggest fan of Ranbir’s lip-syncing in Rockstar. I was very curious to always see the film’s BTS. I was curious to know if Ranbir could sing or not. His singing skills were negative, they were really bad. But that also goes to show how good an actor he is. Being a singer, I also tried to recreate the lip-syncs. Obviously in the film Jigra, it was an exaggerated version, but I wanted to try matching his pitch.”

Vedang went on to explain that lip-syncing is not an easy job for actors. Alia also praised her father-in-law Rishi Kapoor and said, “One thing Ranbir would always share was that his father would ask him to sing loudly if there is anybody who truly sung songs, that was Rishi Kapoor.”

Vedang Raina further revealed that he is a huge fan of Shammi Kapoor and drew inspiration from the renowned actor for his character in The Archies. Vedang stated, “Before The Archies, I had seen a lot of his videos. My character style was very similar to Elvis Presley, and I thought Shammi Kapoor matched very closely to him. So I drew inspiration from Shammi Kapoor.”

Jigra is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions.
