Alia Bhatt has been awaiting the release of her next outing Darlings. The dark comedy drama, which also stars Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Mathew, is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on August 5. Alia, who is also a producer on Darlings alongside Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, has been on a promotional spree for her forthcoming film.
In one such exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, when asked if she wants a “Baba, baby ya twins (a boy, a girl or twins)” Alia replies with a smile, “Baba, baby ya twins... I don’t know. Joh bhagwan dede, bhagwan nahi matlab joh mile…” and then Jasmeen jokingly says, “Joh Ranbir dede” and the two burst out laughing. “Just a healthy baby, that’s all one wishes for,” Alia adds and then confirms she was referring to the baby in the film.
Netflix’s Darlings will mark Alia Bhatt’s first film as a producer. The actress will also appear in the much-anticipated fantasy drama Brahmastra by Ayan Mukerji, which will be her debut film alongside her actor-husband Ranbir Kapoor. The film, which will arrive in theaters on September 9, will also star Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Mouni Roy.
