Warner Bros. dropped a new Black Adam movie poster ahead of the first trailer for Dwayne Johnson's upcoming DCEU film, revealing DC’s iconic supervillain look and anti-hero tagline.
The film will be anchored by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who will executive produce the film and also star in as its titular antihero. Donning a black anti-hero costume highlighting Johnson’s muscles, the new poster comes with the film's tagline, "The world needed a hero. It got Black Adam." The poster comes ahead of the much anticipated first Black Adam trailer which debuts on June 8, 2022. In DC's live-action, Johnson will play the supervillain at the beginning of the 20th century, when the Justice Society of America was still the leading superhero group protecting Earth.
Black Adam is based on the DC Comics character of the same name. While Black Adam is typically an enemy of Shazam, the upcoming film will not actually feature Zachary Levi’s Shazam. Instead, Black Adam will put Johnson's ancient character against the Justice Society of America. Johnson also tweeted sharing the first official poster for the upcoming DC film as he writes, “Hierarchy of power in the DC Universe will change.”
