SS Rajamouli's directorial RRR starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR has taken the box office by storm. The film has crossed Rs. 1000 crore at the Global Box office and the Hindi version of the film alone has crossed Rs. 200 crore at the box office. To celebrate the humongous success of the film, Pen Studios' Dr. Jayantilala Gada hosted a success party in Mumbai. The event was also graced by Aamir Khan and Karan Johar among other celebrities from the Hindi film industry.
At the party, while interacting with the media, Jr NTR expressed his desire to have a sequel of RRR and hoped that the film will become a franchise. Rajamouli sir needs to make RRR 2 as there needs to be a conclusion to this story," said Jr NTR referring to SS Rajamouli's previous film Baahubali- The Conclusion, the two-part film which was received with overwhelming love from across the country. Jr NTR said that while talking to someone earlier he had referred to the film as “RRR Franchise” and said that he hopes that his words come true. The actor also said that it is all on Rajamouli to make the plans for a sequel, as he and Ram Charan are all ready to show up for shoot anytime he calls them.
Meanwhile, Ram Charan said that he is only glad that RRR has been released despite repeated delays caused by the pandemic. SS Rajamouli, on the other hand, said that he is not yet over RRR to think about a sequel right now. However, he said it would be a “great pleasure" for him to make a sequel, not just because of what RRR will achieve at the box office, but also because he will get more time to spend with his two brothers. “But let time unravel and see what happens," he concluded at the party.
