Actor Kriti Sanon is on a promotional spree for her upcoming movie, Mimi. The actress plays the role of a young surrogate mother. Recently, she spoke to Bollywood Hungama virtually about her film and even had a stance on the blind items in tabloids.
For unversed, Kriti Sanon recently penned a long note on her Instagram story criticising paparazzi for covering funerals and people who are emotional. This was after the death of Indian cinema icon Dilip Kumar. During the conversation, she talked about why she felt the urge to ask everyone to stop shooting such tragic moments and she also discussed the need to ban these 'blind items'.
"Who doesn't? I think it's just obnoxious. You don't basically have the guts and type in gossip. Most of them are not true. It's hearsay; there are no facts. If you know it's a fact then write the name. Who stopped you? [You should] have the guts to write the name. If you can't write the name then don't write. That's not journalism. I think that comes under mental harassment because I think it does affect the families of individuals and beyond that. It kinda might sometimes be hampering some relationships. People are in relationships and it might affect them psychologically. We don't even realise it. I think it should be banned," Kriti says about how these blind items can affect people mentally.
Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon's Mimi will release directly on digital. Jio Studios & Dinesh Vijan present, Mimi.
