Apart from making films like Satya, Sarkar, Rangeela, and others, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma often makes headlines for his tweets. His tweets often come across as shocking, controversial, and sometimes offensive. He had once tweeted that Coronavirus is a bigger star than Mahesh Babu. Well, this did not go down well with fans of the Telugu film superstar and RGV received backlash for the same.
Recently, in an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, when asked about his statement on Mahesh Babu and coronavirus, Varma said, “I say things sometimes in humour, sometimes to drive a point across. When you make it entertaining, dramatic, or shocking, it has more of an impact compared to just saying it out flatly.”
When asked if he truly believes in the statement he made, he said, “Yes, because everyone is only talking about corona from the last one-and-a-half year. The films are not going anywhere.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, RGV recently launched his own OTT platform called Spark and the first film to stream on the platform is his latest release D Company.
